“Blow” is an evocative wireframe sculpture, a familiar of the near-extinct ceiling fan. Shifting the energy of the space with ease, caressing the still life it surrounds. Its spinning motif is engulfing the target with its hypnotic choreography. The maneuvers of the object have a tranquilizing effect on the space. The affectionate sculpture is a result of dismantling a functioning interior object leaving only its emotional counterparts.
Martynas Kazimierėnas (b. 1982) is a designer and the artistic director of the March design studio who lives and works in Vilnius. His creative practice probes the
materiality of things and the origin of their function, using the motifs and forms of
the great outdoors. Martynas employs unconventional methods of
production, dismantling and altering the process of making objects. He has won a number of awards for innovation, and the works of his studio are presented at major design fairs in New York, Paris, Frankfurt, and Tokyo.
