PLOPP stool is an icon and a bestseller of Zieta Studio. It is not only ordinary seating – its intriguing form defies the rules of geometry and contains the history of Oskar Zięta’s research on the properties and possibilities of metal. PLOPP, or “Polish folk air-pumped object”, is material proof that the creative and artistic aspect of design can be included in a highly advanced engineering form.
The unique, toy-looking and playful shape of PLOPP is an effect of an innovative forming method – FIDU technology. Forms made in FIDU are very light but also very durable. Since it was introduced to the market in 2010, it had already won such prestigious awards as the Red Dot Design Award 2008, the German Design Council Award 2008 and the Forum AID Award 2009.
