Paulina Vasiliauskaitė Lithuanian, b. 2000
Overview
Paulina Vasiliauskaitė (born in 2000) is a designer who weaves narratives through her objects, forms, and choice of materials. Her areas of interest are deeply rooted in traditions, childhood memories, and a contemporary understanding of femininity. In her work, design pieces draw inspiration from Lithuanian folklore and mythology, reflecting the human subconscious, love, and collective fears. The metaphors and symbols she employs serve as tools, enabling her designs to transcend their aesthetic and functional value to tell compelling stories. Paulina is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. From 2021 to 2022, she also undertook studies in the Netherlands at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague (KABK).
