Justina Stipinaitė

Justina's objects highlighted in ELLE Décoration and The Steidz magazines!

We are happy to share the successful results of the designers we represented at Collectible!

ELLE Décoration, known for its coverage of design and interior aesthetics, has published a list of the 10 most outstanding works at the fair. The coveted first place goes to designer Justina Stipinaitė with her remarkable creation Bony, presented by Galerija VARTAI.

Justina Stipinaitė impressed Collectible and ELLE Decoration with her wall lamp Bony, which mixes incompatible materials by applying irrational design solutions whose starting point is the material and its potential. The polystyrene foam is covered with paraffin textures reminiscent of a living organism. Given its transitory and fragile nature, the resulting alloy is coated with a precious material – nickel. The metal part is emphasised by a contrasting material. The pink Barbie LED strip is trimmed with pink faux fur, giving the lamp a vibrant colour. The young designer says she wanted to “apply irrational solutions to these materials”

Justina's The Quirky Rug has also caught the attention of The Steidz, a magazine that focuses on contemporary art, fashion and design. It was featured as one of the five notable objects at the fair.

Made from a unique blend of wool, polyester, velvet and faux fur, this extraordinary piece challenges conventional notions of art and invites the viewer to explore the intersection of texture and colour. With The Quirky Rug, Justina Stipinaite wanted to emphasise the tactile aspect of the textile to give it “the impression of a living organism”. The creeping, worm-like fringes on the edge are reminiscent of marine plants and invertebrates. The character of this design object therefore brings fun to the environment and takes people back to their childhood in the 90s due to its colourfulness.
