April 29, the Kingdom of the Netherlands will celebrate its Independence Day. On the eve of this festival – April 28th – ARTSCAPE programme will be launched inviting everyone to find out about the country’s fine arts, jazz and film.

Vartai gallery introduces the interdisciplinary art bullies from Rotterdam – Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL). This company was established by the artist Joep van Lieshout in 1995. The artistic practice of the AVL involves installations, artwork, interior designing, production of furniture, and architecture; their artwork captures with its ingenious structure as well as multifunction. A representative of the Lithuanian interdisciplinary art – Dainius Liškevičius – will introduce his newest project which is defined as ‘a picnic’ by the artist himself. The space of the gallery is filled with various objects that had been stored in the artist’s stairwell for a long time. This absurd turnout becomes a creative adventure and based on an old travelling picture a shed is constructed of all these things offering a temporary shelter for travellers.
