This is a multifunctional piece with many faces. Each technique and material has been chosen with a specific personal relationship to Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The aluminium surface has been hand carved in order to strengthen and protect the surface. Limed oak finish that has been used here is a technique that had been invented in 16th century to help deter insects and rot. Linen fabric is metal-coated to make this slipcover more resilient and reflective.
