"When Fauna Blooms" is a ring collection crafted from colored borosilicate glass by artist Lorena Rode. Inspired by the delicate beauty of all things small that live, hatch, and bloom, Lorena transforms these fleeting moments into creature-like, wearable sculptures that nestle between the fingers. Each piece is handcrafted with care and sculpted with a flame exceeding 1200 degrees Celsius.
Lorena blends vibrant hues and pearl-like compositions in a way that might even be mistaken for Murano glass. When Fauna Blooms invites the wearer to connect with the intricate wonders of nature’s tiniest beings, adorning themselves with blooming microcosms that celebrate life’s hidden beauty.
Lorena Rode (b. 1999, Germany) is an artist currently based in Rotterdam. She graduated from the Fine arts department of the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2023. Her practice explores the intersections of identity, culture, and nature. With a nomadic upbringing across South America, Africa, and Europe, she draws on diverse ecosystems and cultural landscapes to fuel her curiosity about our coexistence. Her creations defy traditional boundaries and manifest to sculptures, wearables, stories, or performances that reside between art and design.
