The carpet "Crumbling, But Still Home" is part of the "Memorabilia" collection, which is based on childhood memories and shapes from the artist's first home. The objects that are most imprinted in the artist's memories and that evoke the most memories were the antique piano in black lacquered wood and the cold green, peeling walls in the staircase. Although she often feels nostalgic for the past, she remembers only fragments of her childhood, as if the memories had been "chewed out" by time.
The cold, crumbled, as if chewing, staircase wall dictates the form for a soft and gentle design object, thus capturing childhood memories and nostalgic feelings. Year after year, the increasingly crumbling wall is immortalised in the soft form of a carpet as it exists today.
The rug is handmade using 100% wool yarn.
