"Amphora 1" is part of Robertas Narkus's ongoing exploration, blending ideas, keywords, and experiences into a dynamic amalgamation. These works merge ceramics with algorithms and technology, transforming masks into handles, levers, and unrecognizable devices or ritual tools from distant futures or pasts. Narkus's innovative approach creates a fusion of ancient and futuristic elements, reflecting his distinctive style and conceptual depth in the intersection of art and technology.

Robertas Narkus (b. 1983, Lithuania) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice navigates the flux of economic systems through a lens of hyperbolic irony. Holding both bachelor's and master's degrees in photography and media art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and furthering his studies at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, Narkus skillfully integrates societal mechanisms into his artistic strategies. He is the visionary behind initiatives such as "Autarkia," the Vilnius Institute of Pataphysics, the "eeKūlgrinda" experimental engineering camp, and "Vizionierius," a platform fostering collaboration between artists and private enterprises. Narkus's work spans various media and forms, creating a unique hybrid that reflects and critiques neoliberal power structures. His art has been showcased in solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, Galerija VARTAI in Vilnius, David Dale Gallery in Glasgow, and Tenderpixel in London, as well as in prestigious group projects like the 12th Baltic Triennial, the 5th Marrakech Biennale, and de Appel in Amsterdam. In 2022, he represented Lithuania at the Venice Biennale with the project "Gut Feeling."
