Vilius Dringelis’s The Gates is a sculptural vase whose form was inspired by the balcony of Gallery VARTAI and its architectural element – the balustrade. The work not only symbolizes the relationship between the gallery and the artist, but also marks an important building in Vilnius where various historical layers converge, ranging from the area of the city’s defensive wall to a complex that for many years has been home to cultural and educational initiatives of the city.
The designer, in his creative practice, uses foil to capture various urban and environmental forms, which he then transforms using digital tools into design objects of different typologies and materials.

Viliaus Dringelio „The Gates“ – skulptūrinė vaza, kurios formą įkvėpė galerijos VARTAI balkonas ir jo architektūrinis elementas – baliustrada. Kūrinys ne tik simbolizuoja galerijos ir menininko ryšį, bet ir žymi svarbų Vilniaus pastatą, kuriame jungiasi įvairūs istoriniai sluoksniai – nuo miesto gynybinės sienos zonos iki komplekso, kuriame daugelį metų kūrėsi miesto kultūros ir švietimo iniciatyvos.
Dizaineris kūrybinėje praktikoje naudoja foliją, kurią pasitelkdamas fiksuoja įvairias miesto ar aplinkos formas ir jas skaitmeninėmis priemonėmis transformuoja į įvairių tipologijų ir medžiagų dizaino kūrinius.
