The edition by Mieko Shiomi is a wooden box containing a paper note with handwritten text: "The deluxe edition in 10 copies of Shiomi's 'Fluxus Balance' (the regular edition is smaller, in a simple envelope)", 34 sheets of indentical b&w print of a scale and 68 small carboard cards with printed text, drawings and artists names. Each print have 2 small cards and metal weights on strings glued by different artists on the scale print .

EN
"Fluxus Balance" is a collaborative mail art project set up as a conceptual game, contributed by 68 artists. In 1964, Shiomi Mieko sent a card to more than 200 artists, spanning multiple continents with following invitation: “Write down in one of the squares on the Balance what you want to balance with something which another person wants to balance. It can be either an object or a concept, indicating or not indicating its weight”. Shiomi’s simple instruction exemplifies the spirit of openness, simplicity, and versatility that characterized the transnational artistic networks related to Fluxus in the 1960s. Between New York and Tokyo raises questions about artistic networks and their transformative potential still relevant today.
