Deimantas Narkevičius, who originally trained as a sculptor, has worked with storytelling, history and forms of documentary using film and video. His practice centres on exploring history through the prism of the present and the ways in which memories are contoured by feeling and imagination. Narkevičius thinks of history as material for art that is always alive and artistic practice as a means to examine manifold subjects.
