Exposition of MA theses of students of Vilnius Academy of Arts: Anton Pedos and Daria Antyp

17 - 23 June 2022
Overview

Opening June 17 (Friday), from 11 a.m.

Anton Pedos' project "The Cost" reflects the ongoing Russian occupation of his country Ukraine and the thousands of lives lost, which in the current context have become just numbers. Anton seeks to draw attention to each and every story. Nobody should be forgotten:

"I was afraid that the memory of people who gave their lives and are still dying for their country is going to dissolve through time. <...> And somebody could say that people die every day, and it’s in our nature to die. But not because of the bombs. Not because of the other people. Normalizing it will put humanity at the lowest level in the food chain. It’s just a degradation."

Daria Antyp is a young artist from Horlivka, Donetsk region in Ukraine, which is currently being completely destroyed. In 2014, with the outbreak of the war, the girl was forced to leave her hometown of Harlivka and start a new life. The artist's works are not just personal experiences, they are the story of every Donetsk resident, every person in the world who had to say goodbye to their home.

Defense of master's theses will take place on June 17th. from 11 a.m.

The exhibition will be open until June 23.
