The artwork was created especially for the exhibition "Embracement" (2021.09.09 - 10.23), dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the famous Lithuanian modernist artist Antanas Mončys.
The essence of this work is the idea that an object is not so much a thing in itself but a space for other things. Its use-function is fulfilled when the negative space created by one object becomes the holder for other objects. In this way, there is a kind of transference of use-values, from one function to another. This is perhaps at the heart of the creative process that sees potential beyond the contours and limits of a given object and its prescribed or assumed use.
