"Inevitably, the manifest about simple everyday objects included food product motifs. I was interested in their shapes, colours and metaphors. One evening, while cutting champignons for an ordinary vegetable stew, a skull appeared on the cutting board. Avoiding extravagant terms and descriptions of this event, I just saw a skull and later even the consequences of an atomic explosion in a simple mushroom. Later, while painting this motif, I thought about what happens after an explosion - both of a bomb and of thoughts. It is probably silence and the contemplation of the events."

„Manifeste apie paprastus kasdienius daiktus neišvengiamai atsirado ir maisto produktų motyvai. Domėjausi jų formomis, spalvomis, metaforomis. Vakare pjaustant pievagrybius eiliniam daržovių troškiniui, ant pjaustymo lentelės atsivertė kaukolė. Vengiant skambių terminų ir šio įvykio apibūdinimų - paprastame grybe pamačiau kaukolę, o vėliau ir atominio sprogimo padarinius. Vėliau tapydamas šį motyvą galvojau, kas vyksta po sprogimo - tiek bombos, tiek minčių. Tikriausiai tyla ir įvykių pasekmių kontempliacija."
