Propositiones ad Acuendos Juvenes or Problem solving for a sharp mind: "Once a farmer went to the market place and bought a wolf, a goat and a cabbage. On their way home they reached a river, to cross it the farmer lent the row boat that was nearby. However only him and only one of his purchases: either the wolf, the goat or the cabbage head, could fit in the little boat. If he left the wolf and the goat, the latter will be eaten, if he left the goat with the cabbage - on his return he would only find the goat. The conundrum for the farmer was how to get all of his purchases to the other side of the river safe and sound. How did he manage to do that?"

Kelionėje namo jis priėjęs upės krantą ir pasiskolinęs ten buvusią valtį. Tačiau valtin galėjo tilpti tik jis ir dar kuris vienas iš pirkinių: arba vilkas, arba ožka, arba kopūstas.Jei paliktų krante vilką su ožka, pastaroji būtų suėsta, o jei ožką su kopūstu - grįžęs ūkininkas terastų ožką.Ūkininko galvosūkis buvo kaip perplukdyti visus savo pirkinius į kitą upės krantą sveikus ir gyvus. Kaip jis tai padarė?”"
