Faktura Lithuanian , b. 1995
Ervinas Blažys-Faktura (b. 1995) is a young-generation artist living and working in Vilnius. His practice stands out for its interdisciplinary approach, blending innovation, artistic expression, and visual experimentation. Faktura's diverse educational background – a bachelor's degree in economics from Vilnius University and Kyungpook National University in South Korea, followed by a master's in Technology and Innovation Management from ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius – enables him to apply interdisciplinary thinking in his creative work, integrating various fields of knowledge and research methods. The artist actively participates in international exhibitions, festivals, and residencies. His works are characterized by a distinctive visual language that invites viewers to explore the interplay between environment, architecture, and art. This thematic focus is not accidental – Faktura delves into the concept of “disturbed symmetry,” which explores the relationship between balance, disruption, and structure, often found in contemporary architecture and the works of other creators. His creative research is grounded in both theoretical sources and artistic practice, examining how contemporary individuals relate to their urban and cultural environments.
