Vilius Dringelis (b. 1989, Lithuania) is the independent generation Lithuanian designer, who graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in design. His works reflect a spirit of experimentation coupled with respect for the demands of professional practice. The designer combines innovative, contemporary and digital technologies with various materials to create new, unique items, he likes to attach great importance to the creative process, to coincidences.
The artist explores the concepts of wandering, error, authenticity. In the creative process and in the structures of objects, he uses the forms of foil prints, which he randomly finds and imprints in the city or household. According to this principle, existing objects are transformed and rearranged into new design elements that tell unique stories.
Dringelis’s works in a personal design studio with objects, customer orders and collaborative projects. He has presented his works at various international exhibitions and has been awarded various international and Lithuanian design awards.
