"'Ding Dong! Avon Calling!' painting is based on a shot from Tim Burton’s movie Edward Scissorhands (1990). The name of the painting references one of the characters. Peg Boggs, who sells Avon products, knocks on the door. The movie reflects and analyses contrasts in the society, not only through the story line, but also through the visuals. The street of pastel houses and the aesthetics of its inhabitants is compared to the dark gothic castle of Edward Scissorhands. I suppose there is no need to clarify that what is pretty, colourful and eye-catching does not always match what lies beneath the shined surface."

„„Ding Dong! Avon Calling!“ paveikslas paremtas kadru iš Tim Burton filmo Edvardas Žirkliarankis (1990). Pavadinimas nurodo menamą veikėją: į duris beldžia Peg Boggs prekiaujanti Avon produkcija. Filme ne tik per siužeto liniją, tačiau ir per vizualinius įvaizdžius atsispindi nagrinėjami kontrastai visuomenėje. Pastelinių namų gatvė ir jos gyventojų estetika sugretinama su Edvardo Žirkliarankio tamsia gotiška pilimi. Greičiausiai ir nereikėtų pridurti, jog tai, kas gražu, spalvinga, traukia akį ne visada sutampa su tuo, kas slepiasi po nudailintu paviršiumi.“
